200 Listings…It’s time for a sale

After getting down to business and restocking the shop, I’ve hit 200 listings! I’ve also started running out of space to store all my new yarns. Sooo, it’s time to have a sale in the shop. For the entire month of january all hand dyed yarns are on sale for 25% off. Pop over to the shop and top up your stash so that I can get back to work in the dyepots!

Ticking off the boxes

At the end of the year I was going through my knitting drawer…make that chest…or perhaps closet…and I realised how many unfinshed projects I had lying around here, there, and everywhere. So I decided that perhaps I should finish a few, here they are for your viewing pleasure…

What began as the Multnomah shawl by Kate Ray but I put it down for too long and had to fudge the pattern border (pics to come)

Pumpkin Patch Sweater

This is my pride and joy of knitting patterns. I am ridiculously pround of how it turned out and have received tons of compliments on it. This is the first project i’ve made where I dyed the yarn and designed the pattern. Of course, it still isn’t quite ready tobe published. I need some better pics and it needs to go through the test knitters but hopefully I will have it released by March. This is pattern #1 towards my goal of publishing 12 patterns in 2014. Enjoy!

Blue Moon Sweater Coat

This is a sweater coat that I designed when I was cold and in the mood to play with cables. I wanted something nice and long that I could wear to the park with the kids and not have a chilly breeze blowing up my back. This pattern will be ready to go as soon as I can get some proper pictures done. This will make pattern #3 of 12 for 2014…At this rate i’ll beat my goal by next month!

Teddy Bear Blanket

This blanket was inspired by my little girl. I wanted to crochet a blanket that would be very thick and warm, with no holes for little fingers to get tangled up in. It is very much gender neutral and would make a fantastic heirloom gift to be treasured for years to come.

If you would like to crochet this blanket, the pattern can be purchased in my ravelry shop:

Haunted Vineyard Sock Pattern

I saw this stitch pattern in one of my stitch library books and felt like it was destined to be made into socks.  After a few months of knitting and ripping, the haunted vineyard sock pattern was born!  Here are a few pics:

This pair is also destined for the dyepot.  I love the colour but it doesn’t show off the pattern very well.   Maybe just a bit deeper green…

If you would like to knit these socks, the pattern can be purchaed in my ravelry store:

Around The Bend Socks

I just finished my second pair of the around the bend socks that i’ve been working on for ages.  I made a few changes to the second pair and i’m much happier with the design.  The pattern is nearly ready for the test knitters (after some not so fun math) and will hopefully be released in a few months.  I will be overdyeing both pairs because, well, the tan pair make my plae legs look ill and the stripey pair are just a bit too stripey for me (and I made my monkey socks in the same colourway).  This will make #2 for my goal of publishing 12 patterns in 2014…

Two things I discovered while working on this pattern:

1. It’s really hard to take a good picture of socks…really, really, hard.

2. It’s really easy to screw up when turning a heel mathmatically.
